Fair Winds Farm prides itself in quality care. While we have stables that can accommodate up to 18 horses, we prefer to keep the actual number of horses at a maximum of twelve. This provides greater flexibility in meeting the changing needs of animals in rehabilitation. Actual facilities include:
Main Barn

Mare Motel
Horses can be moved daily between the main barn (night) and the mare motel (day) on a space available arrangement. The four 24'x24' stalls in the mare motel can be converted to 12'x12' for those horses requiring a limitation of motion. We believe that this arrangement ensures the greatest flexibility in providing your horse with the proper amount of space during the various stages of its rehabilitation and eliminates the boredom that can accompany lay-ups.
As an added safety feature, the barns and mare motel are equipped with both normal (or flood) lighting and low level night lights to allow unobtrusive night checks on our guests. The main barn also has video monitoring capability.
All stalls and pens have areas that are covered with stall mats thus
providing safe and sure footing conditions. These areas are a minimum of 12’ x
12’ in size.
